Can I be a legacy contact for multiple people
Yes. And here’s how it works when connected to multiple accounts
Yes, you can be a legacy contact for more than one person in SafeKeep. There’s no limit to how many people can add you as their legacy contact, and you can manage all of those relationships in one place.
Where to find them
All the accounts you’ve been added to as a legacy contact are listed in your Connected users area. You’ll see each name clearly, so you always know who you’ve been trusted to support.
When someone passes away
If one of those people dies, you can begin an account takeover request from your own SafeKeep account:
- Go to Connected users
- Find the person’s name
- Click the account takeover button
- Submit the required details:
- A copy of their death certificate
- Their date of birth
- Your SafeKeep password for confirmation
What happens next
Once the request is verified by SafeKeep’s team, you’ll be able to:
- Access their account, including documents, messages, and memories
- Download their data to your device
- Or merge it into your own account, which will count toward your storage quota
You can do this process separately for each person you are connected to. You’ll only gain access after a verified takeover is approved, and until then, you won’t be able to view or edit any of their information.
This makes it simple, secure, and respectful—while giving you the tools to help your loved ones when they need it most.
