Cancelling your subscription (and what happens next)
What happens when you cancel
You can cancel your SafeKeep subscription at any time, but it’s important to understand what happens to your documents, messages, and memories when you do.
What happens when you cancel
When you cancel your subscription, you will keep access to your full account until the end of your current billing cycle. For example, if your subscription ends in 14 days, you can continue using SafeKeep as normal for those 14 days.
Once your billing period ends:
- You will lose access to your My Safe documents
- You will no longer be able to access your legacy messages and memories
- Any data you’ve stored in these areas will be held for 30 days
After those 30 days, your stored data will be permanently deleted from SafeKeep and cannot be recovered.
Can you change your mind?
Yes. If you decide to continue your subscription within the 30-day window, you can log in and renew your plan. This will restore access to all of your stored content.
What stays active
Even if you cancel your subscription:
- Your SafeKeep account remains open
- You can still be a Legacy contact for someone else if you’ve been added to their account
- You can log in and manage basic settings or restart a subscription in future
Cancelling your plan does not delete your entire account. Only the stored content in MySafe and MyLegacy will be removed after the 30-day period.
