At SafeKeep, protecting your personal information is our highest priority. Whether you’re storing legal documents, health records, or personal messages, every file you add to your Safe is secured using strong encryption and privacy controls from the moment you upload it.
Here’s how we protect your data, every step of the way.
End-to-end encryption
Every document you upload is protected using AES 256-bit encryption. This is the same level of security used by banks and hospitals, and it ensures your files are stored in a format that cannot be read or accessed without proper permissions.
Encryption is applied in two main ways:
- In transit: When your file travels between your device and SafeKeep, it’s protected using Transport Layer Security (TLS). This prevents anyone from intercepting or reading your data during upload or download.
- At rest: Once stored in our system, your file is encrypted again so it cannot be accessed—even if someone were to gain access to our storage systems.
Your documents are never stored in plain text, and encryption happens automatically in the background. You don’t need to switch it on.
Secure data storage
All files are stored in a secure, access-controlled environment. We use trusted cloud providers that meet strict international standards, including:
- ISO 27001
- SOC 2 compliance
- Regular security audits and penetration testing
These checks help ensure our platform remains protected against both common and emerging threats.
Access controls and activity monitoring
Only you and the people you choose to share your documents with can access your SafeKeep files. No one at SafeKeep can view your document content as part of day-to-day operations. Internal access is tightly restricted and monitored.
We also:
- Monitor for unusual login or activity
- Alert you to any suspicious sign-ins
- Automatically log you out after periods of inactivity
This ensures your account remains safe, even if you forget to close a session.
Account-level security
Your SafeKeep account includes:
- Two-factor authentication (2FA) via mobile and email
- Optional use of an authenticator app for added protection
- Biometric login options in the mobile app for secure and easy access
All of these help make sure only the right person can log in and manage your information.
Your control over your data
You’re always in charge of your information. You can:
- Choose who sees what, and for how long
- Remove access at any time
- Download your entire account data if you wish
- Permanently delete your account and all stored files if you ever decide to leave
After deletion, your data is completely erased from our systems following a short grace period.
