I’ve been removed as a legacy contact: What now
What removal means and what you can do next
If you’ve been removed as a legacy contact, it means you are no longer listed to receive access to that person’s SafeKeep account after they pass away. This removal may happen for a couple of reasons:
- The account holder manually removed you from their list of legacy contacts
In either case, you won’t be notified of the reason directly, but it’s usually a decision made by the account holder themselves.
What you can do next
If you believe the removal was a mistake or you were expecting to remain listed as a legacy contact, we recommend reaching out directly to the primary account holder. They can:
- Confirm why the change was made
- Re-invite you if they decide to add you back as a legacy contact
What happens to your SafeKeep account
Your own SafeKeep account remains fully active and unchanged. You will still have full access to your documents, folders, and memories. The only difference is that you are no longer connected to the other person’s account as their legacy contact.
Being removed does not impact your storage, access, or features in any way. You can continue using SafeKeep just as before.
