Recovering deleted documents
Guide to restoring recently deleted documents
If you’ve accidentally deleted a document or changed your mind, SafeKeep makes it easy to restore items from your Recently Deleted area — as long as it’s within the 30-day window.
Where deleted documents go
When you delete a document on either the web platform or the mobile app, it is not immediately removed from your account. Instead, it is moved to your Recently Deleted section:
- On the web app, you’ll find this in the left-hand sidebar
- On the mobile app, it’s located on the main My Safe screen
Documents in this area are removed from their folders and the general document list, but are still stored securely for 30 days.
How to restore a deleted document
- Go to your Recently Deleted section
- Find the document you want to recover
- Select Restore from the available options
Once restored, the document will reappear in your main MySafe view, and you can move it to a folder, edit its details, or manage it as usual.
What happens after 30 days
After 30 days, any document in the Recently Deleted section is permanently deleted from SafeKeep and cannot be recovered. This is part of our privacy and security commitment to ensure your data is not held longer than necessary.
If you think a document was deleted in error, it’s important to check the Recently Deleted area as soon as possible.
