Setting and customising expiry reminders

Guide to setting reminders for important documents and tasks

SafeKeep helps you stay on top of your life admin by reminding you when a document is about to expire. Whether it’s a passport, insurance policy, or licence, you will receive a gentle reminder before the deadline so you have time to act.

Reminders are built into the platform and are simple to manage.

How expiry reminders work

If your document has an expiry date added, SafeKeep will automatically send you notifications during the 30 days leading up to that date. These reminders are sent:

  • As push notifications if you are using the mobile app
  • As email notifications if you are using the web platform

You will receive several reminders within the 30-day period to help make sure you do not miss a renewal or important update.

When to set an expiry reminder

You can set an expiry date:

  • When uploading a document

Look for the expiry date field during the upload process

  • When editing a document

Open the document, select Edit, and add or update the expiry field

If your document does not naturally have an expiry date but you still want to be reminded, you can use a custom field.

Using a custom field for expiry

To add a custom expiry reminder:

  1. Open the document and select Edit
  2. Scroll to the Custom fields section
  3. Add a new field, choose the Date option, and enter your chosen expiry date
  4. Save the document

This will work the same way as a regular expiry date, and you will receive reminder notifications before the date arrives.

SafeKeep’s expiry reminders are here to help you stay ahead of renewals without the need for calendars or sticky notes. You will always know what is coming up and have time to take care of it.
