What happens when a reminder triggers
What users can expect when a document reminder activates
When a document in your SafeKeep account has an expiry date saved, SafeKeep will automatically monitor that date and begin sending reminders 30 days before it expires. These reminders are designed to help you stay ahead of renewals and updates without needing to track them yourself.
When reminders start
Reminders begin exactly 30 days before the expiry date saved on the document. From that point, you will receive periodic notifications leading up to the expiry day.
How reminders are delivered
Reminders are sent through:
- Email notifications if you use the web platform
- Push notifications if you use the mobile app and have notifications enabled
You may receive more than one reminder during the 30-day window to keep the expiry date top of mind.
What to do when you receive a reminder
Once a reminder is triggered, you can:
- Review and renew the document, then update its expiry date by editing the document
- Archive the document if it is no longer needed
- Delete the document if it is no longer relevant and you do not want to store it
If no action is taken, reminders will continue until the expiry date is reached or the document is updated, archived, or deleted.
SafeKeep’s reminders are there to help you stay organised and feel more in control. They give you time to renew, replace, or update documents before anything becomes urgent.
